Celebrate The Win

Have you ever noticed how the religious world can sometimes try to turn a moment for celebration into a doubtful perspective of the future? 

It’s as though they never want you to have a win or notable achievement. In other words, don’t get too comfortable cause it won’t last.

For example, I believe the victory of Donald Trump becoming the next president is a very good and timely victory for this nation, Israel and the world. 

Unfortunately, there are some Christians who want to squelch a time of celebration by convincing you it’s just another opportunity for God to call America and the world to the altar of repentance. Really?

In other words, don’t get overly excited, you’ve only been given more time to get your life right with God. Wow!

Obviously, the world as a whole has a way to go when it comes to embracing the revelation of God’s love. 

But the idea of a father minimizing his children’s wins or achievements, (no matter how great or small) all because you’re not good enough is extremely dysfunctional.

Anytime injustice is overcome with justice that’s a cause worth celebrating. Whenever the darkness of humanity is impacted by light that’s a cause to celebrate. 

If the immoral compass of any nation is turned back towards morality, no matter how slight it might seem, that’s an achievement worth celebrating. 

If your favorite sports team wins the game, that’s worth celebrating. It’s called supporting your team and encouraging them towards their greater potential.

Any parent that doesn’t celebrate the ongoing achievements in their children’s lives, in my opinion, is child abuse. 

Making someone think they can never measure up to the full stature of Christ because of “works” is spiritually abusive and narrow minded. 

It’s no wonder an entire generation, at one level or another is struggling to be free of an orphan spirit. 

Making someone feel like their accomplishments are never good enough comes from the knowledge of good and evil, thus the law of sin and death. 

In the meantime, may we continue to live from heaven down. Yes, let’s continue to set our mind on things above and not on things below. And, may we all progressively walk in the light as He is in the light. 

Let me encourage you to celebrate your achievements in this life. 

Whether temporary or eternal, they’re worth celebrating. Your wins and achievements are a gain, a victory, a wonderful accomplishment that’s worth acknowledging.
