The Effortless Gentle Power Of God

When I was younger, it seemed I put out more effort to accomplish less. Now it seems I put out less effort to accomplish more accomplish more.

Whenever Jesus manifested the kingdom of God, his actions seemed almost effortless. His glory and power exceeded the strength of the flesh in every way.

Outside of getting in the face of the religious leaders of that time, almost every display of power carried with it a supernatural certainty of peace and rest.

Jesus wasn’t driven by the urgencies of humanity. While he had no problem expressing his emotions, his intensive authority seemed somewhat calm and assertive. Even while expressing his anger and disappointment toward the religious sec, he was not easily disturbed by the frailty of the flesh.

I used to be the loudest guy in the room. My loudness accompanied with various levels of emotion seemed to compensate for the lessor visible power of God in my life. Being aggressively loud made me feel more powerful and anointed. At the end of the day, the animated authority of my life was not any more powerful than the gentle voice of God within me.

Such was the case with Elijah. After fleeing to a cave thinking he was the last prophet alive, God called out to him.

1 Kings 19:11-12

11 “So, He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord was passing by! And a great and powerful wind was tearing out the mountains and breaking the rocks in pieces before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

12  And after the earthquake, a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire, a sound of a gentle blowing.”

The gentle blowing of wind of the spirit of God is coming again…

This isn’t about whoever is the loudest gets the most attention. This isn’t about the squeakiest wheel getting the most grease.

The aggression of God’s is not coming through the loudest voice, its coming through the quiet fervency
of God’s love. The demonstration of such will be far greater than anything we have seen in a very long time.
